It's that time of the month again to quote my mother, but these days instead of running to mum's bathroom to grab her a sanitry pad, I'm running around my 3 story lakefront bungalow with my cherry-red sherrin re-enacting the 1993 AAFL grand final, and as usual I am the infamous Greg Cairns slotting a left foot banana kick through the posts.

Players and fans of the Saints, there are officially 45 days until the greatest season of the year, and I can only think of one time I was more excited than this, and that time I was dressed in leather, ball in my mouth and a large East German woman screaming abuse at me ...........anyway. This season holds so many questions, will Tod Taverna finally accept he is going grey and leave the hairdying to the ladies? will Manurewa get their shit together and win a game? will Tabe Voigt get a permission slip from his wife to play? And most importantly - will the best damn football outfit in the world win the premiership for the first time since last time they won it?

I will have to wait until december 5th to find that out, but for now I will be content with just seeing the red, white and black machine, majestically jog out onto the fine mix of kikuyu and rye grass which is named Gloucester Park.

In Mount Roskill news, as usual the rumors are running rife, Managment are said to be concerned with players drinking and partying habits and there is talk of a season drinking ban for all players and staff. However some past and present players have scorned the idea with reserve grade captain Brian "nam" Twitchet stating-
"it's my 21st in september and I will be getting f***ing trollied, so get that up ya Junior ya prik"

And former player Greg "wooden leg" Cairns saying "look matey, back in my day if you couldnt sink your piss, you weren't wanted on the team"

In other news, this weekend the club is holding its annual Golf Day, where you can come along and have some fun (or in Adam Brunt's case pay pros to be on your team so you can win the prizes). It is also doubling as a memorial day for Dave Kay, who is being honoured for being the first indiginous player to reach 50 caps for Mount Roskill. So come along and support Dave and the team.
